After you have activated the online account and identified monitored appliances, follow these steps to activate Pre-Set Notification rules:

Notifications are a powerful feature of Evermind. They allow you to receive timely information about conditions in the Appliance User’s home. With Notifications set up properly, Evermind can periodically let you know that everything is okay, and alert you through e-mail or text message when there is a change in routine that could be cause for concern.

These alerts may involve issues of Short Term Safety or Long Term Well-Being.

Short Term Safety

Example of Mom’s typical routine:

6:32 AM Mom makes coffee.

7:05 AM Mom turns on the TV to watch her favorite morning news show.

When you know this has occurred, you can start the day with peace of mind that Mom is awake and in her morning routine.

Example of a Notification relating to short-term safety:

-No monitored appliance was used in the morning (4 AM to 10 AM).

This e-mail or text message alert may signal you to make a phone call, stop by, or send a neighbor to see if Mom is in urgent need of help—how you choose to handle this alert is up to you.

*To activate this Notification, select: “Notify me if there is no activity on any monitored appliance in the morning (4 AM to 10 AM).”

Long Term Well-Being

Example of a routine that is NOT typical for Mom:

4:05 AM Mom turns on her bedroom lamp.

4:20 AM Mom makes coffee.

If Mom is not sleeping and is getting out of bed much earlier than usual, you want to know.

Example of a Notification relating to long term well-being:

-The Bedroom Lamp at Mom’s House was switched ON at 4:05 AM.

This e-mail or text message alert may signal you that Mom’s routine is changing. Over time you may decide to look into whether her medication needs adjusting, whether she is simply forgetting to take her medication, or whether there is some other underlying condition—how you choose to handle this alert is up to you.

*To activate this Notification, select: “Notify me the first time any monitored appliance is used every day.”

You can edit or delete the Pre-Set Notification rules or create Custom Notification rules. As you learn about the Appliance User’s habits over time, you may find it useful to set up Custom Notification rules.
